Happy Pie Day!Yes, today is Pie Day. Not to be confused with the mathematical holiday, Pi Day (March 14). Apparently the American Pie Council designated today as Pie Day. Party time! Let’s celebrate! Given the nature of the holiday, I felt it my duty to partake in some enjoyment of pie. I totally made Shepherd’s Pie for dinner and for dessert? I chose a Key Lime Mini pie, since I’ve been missing my mom a lot and she loved key lime.
Here’s where it gets tricky. I’m trying to eat healthier and not have treats. But it’s pie day. Conflicting. Thankfully Marie Callender’s has these adorable little mini pies now (in 3 varieties- Key Lime, Coconut Cream and Chocolate Satin) and they are sold at my grocery store. So I was a “good” bad girl. I only had a tiny bit of pie.

Marie Callender’s Mini Pies are the perfect sweet treat for Pie Day! #MarieCallenders
Plus, I shared. The kids tried it too. So that’s really like I didn’t have ANY pie, right? And maybe I should have that other one after the kids are in bed? So that second mini pie from the box, well, I savored it. Almost all of it. Until my husband saw me delighting in the creamy, sweet but tart mini pie goodness. Then I got the stink eye and shared. Sigh.
I tried the new Key Lime Mini Pies … next I want to try the Chocolate Satin. I probably won’t try the coconut. It’s nothing against coconut, I’m just not a fan. Have you had any of the mini pies? Did you know you can leave a review and rating at MarieCallendersMeals.com for this or any other Marie Callender’s products you’ve tried!
Check out the Marie Callender’s blog. On Jan. 23, you’ll be able to share what kind of pie you plan to celebrate Pie Day with (sweet or savory) via a representative image. Here’s the blog link: http://blog.mariecallendersmeals.com/

My favorite Marie Callendar dinner was one they don’t make anymore lol I loved the ham with gravy and mac & cheese, such comfort food and it honestly was just like my grandma’s homemade! My dad always loved the turkey pot pies, which was saying a lot for him because he wasn’t one to eat frozen dinners. I’ve been missing him too, so when the Marie Callendars caught my eye a few weeks ago in the store, I picked some pot pies up for dinner – I wanted something different so I got the new cheesy chicken one, not expecting much but it was really good! My kids loved the turkey pot pies though, my daughter has even asked for them again.
