Being a mom of two girls, and a woman who struggled with self-esteem for much of my life, I know how important it is to help build my girls' self-esteem. I have long loved the Dove campaigns for more acceptance, and celebration of women without being perfect- and I'm glad that they have decided to include younger females in their campaigns as well. The messages we send children about their looks, their bodies- their self-esteem- those messages are long-since engrained within them by the time they are adults. Giving girls- children of both sexes, really- giving them the tools they need in order to have a good, strong self-esteem is something that we should all be focusing on. I watched the video and I think the Dove self esteem programs are awesome! There are way too many girls with self esteem and body issues at such a young age. I am inspired to be more vocal with my own daughter and talking about self esteem and body image.
