Our Tobey is 11 1/2 years old now. In human years, that’s still pretty young. In dog years, that’s pretty old, and it’s quite apparent to us that he’s slowed down considerably in the last year or two. We have always had a pet bed for Tobey, but I recently had the chance to check out the Pet Bed with Memory Foam from Nature’s Sleep and I love it. It’s a nice thick bed with a great amount of cushioning- the thickness means that it’s easier for him to get on and off of his bed, the cushioning ensures he’s comfortable on it.
This pet bed has a solid memory foam base to provide maximum support and durability, a therapeutic memory foam layer to relieve discomfort in joints, and a high-loft comfort layer to offer insulation and a nesting environment. A protective, waterproof liner prevents moisture from harming the foam. The outer cover is removable and washable.
The different layers of memory foam mean comfort and relief from muscle and joint pain for our boy. Just like with regular memory foam, the pet bed’s top layer conforms to your furry friend’s body, so as they nest, the bed conforms to their nesting. Now that we’ve had a pet bed like this for Tobey, we’ll always have a memory foam pet bed for our furry family members. There are just so many benefits and with the waterproof liner and wash/dry ability, definitely worth every penny of the investment. We have had a lot of dogs in my family, throughout my entire life, and I always feel so sad as they age and aren’t able to get up and around as well. At least with a memory foam bed I know my poochies are having restful, comfortable sleep or rest times.
- Solid visco memory foam base layer
- Thick Shredded Visco comfort layer ideal for “nesting”
- Top Fiber layer for soft comfort
- Fiber filled Bolster
- Removable washable cover
- Waterproof scrim preventing moisture from reaching & harming the foam
- Non Skid bottom panel
This bed comes in three sizes and 3 colors- small, medium and large (we have the large size, Tobey’s kind of right on the cusp of the medium/large and we figured we’d err on the side of caution size wise). These beds are sized very generously…I think we could fit 2 Tobey’s on his bed and they’d both still be comfortable. The colors are sage, taupe and chocolate- muted, and easy to work with any decor. It arrives in a long, narrow box and I won’t lie, it was kind of weird…but once you open it, within a minute, the bed is unrolled and “adjusting” to being out of shrink wrap- and the more Tobey snuggled into it, the more it fluffed up. The back bolster area of this bed has ended up being Tobey’s pillow-which I like. I don’t want my head on the mattress with my body, why would he? I love my pillows! I’m glad he likes his pillow too!
I really like having a washable cover for a pet bed- especially with three little kids in the house- we have had spills on things I didn’t even think COULD get spilled on- and honestly, between the kids and animals, anything that is able to be washed is a bonus in my mind. The scrim is waterproof which is a layer of protection, and the easy-on/off zipper makes washing the cover a breeze. You can even put the cover in the dryer (I haven’t yet, but we use a clothesline to dry things in our house unless its an ice storm).
You can find the Pet Bed with Memory Foam from Nature’s Sleep right on their website- pricing ranges from $95 for the small to $195 for a large. Shipping is free in the US. You can also use a 50% off code BEARS50 to use towards ANY purchase from the Nature’s Sleep website. This is not inexpensive, but as with many other things, I can tell you I have spent far more on beds for him in 11.5 years than $195 and were I to have that to do over, I’d go memory foam from day one. There’s just so many benefits for your pet.
I love this bed for the benefits for my Tobey, but also for the classic design (it’ll blend in any decor) and muted colors. Most importantly? Tobey couldn’t wait to get on this bed from the moment it was opened up, and he’s hardly ever seen laying down anywhere BUT his bed now (unless he’s laying down near the table at meal time…I do have three little kids!). He’s never spent a lot of time on any bed we’ve purchased for him.
Don’t forget to see how much my friend Emily LOVES her Nature’s Sleep St. Cloud Luxe Memory Foam Mattress!
A sample of this pet bed was received for my review. Opinions are my own.
