I can’t believe I’m writing this but it’s almost time for Back to School….well, for some of you. Here in Connecticut we don’t go back until the very end of August, but I know many will be back in school in just a few short weeks! With back to school comes lots and lots of exposure to germs- and like it or not, no person is exempt from those germs. Kleenex has started a really fun and “hip” new campaign called Kleenex Shield. Sneeze. Swish.which is a three-step routine that was developed to teach kids how to keep stuff off of their hands so parents can feel confident when they head back-to-school. They’ve even included the beloved holiday-time folks over at Elf Yourself in the campaign!
When it comes time to sneeze, it’s important to have Kleenex brand facial tissues with Sneeze Shield, a proprietary process of coating applied to the tissues that helps keep stuff off of hands and in the tissue. It’s easy for Mom to feel confident that her kids can use Sneeze Shield wherever they go with Kleenex brand’s convenient package shapes and sizes, including:
- The Slim Pack. It is thin and sleek, so you can always keep a tissue on hand. Their trendy design makes it the perfect accessory for hip tweens and teens, while their convenient size makes it easy to slide them into pockets, back packs and bags.
- The Car Wedge. It fits perfectly in the car door or glove compartment – no need to lug around a box of tissue or fumble in a purse for a tissue while driving.
- The Go Pack. Strong, soft and absorbent, Kleenex brand go packs have been there for happy tears and stuffy noses since 1924.
So let’s all learn the Shield. Sneeze. Swish.!
- Shield your kids with Kleenex brand’s unique Sneeze Shield tissues
- Sneeze when you gotta!
- Swish that Kleenex tissue right into the waste basket (two points!)
Visit www.Kleenex.com to become a star in the Kleenex Shield. Sneeze. Swish. video and for helpful tools to teach your kids the Sneeze Shield routine. You can even create a video starring your child from the makers of Elf Yourself to help them really get into the idea of Shield. Sneeze. Swish.! Here’s my son starring in his video!
One reader will win a $100 Amazon Gift Card so you can be sure to have enough Kleenex in the house before the kids head back to school!

my best tip is to look for deals and use coupons before buying
My best tip is our day before the first day of school tradition: we have a trial run where we act like it’s the first day of school, get up and go accordingly, but instead of school we go out to breakfast where we sit down and talk about everything from how well we did in the trial run, what the next day will be like, what he is looking forward to from the school year, etc.
It’s a great way to practice and spend real quality time together, helps relieve any anxieties and makes the next morning go easier.
Don’t have to worry about school anymore, but I would say buy supplies when they go on sale, you can save a bundle
start the early morning wake up a couple weeks before school starts
Shop early for school supplies—if you wait for right before school, certain items are almost impossible to find.

Even though it’s stressful, try not to make your stress, the children’s. They have enough.
My daughter starts Kindergarten this year, so I don’t have much experience (just with preschool). I’m going to try to be as prepared as possible. We ordered name labels for her to put on everything, so that she can keep track of her stuff better (from notebooks to her projects). I’m hoping it helps keep her organized – I’ll be trying to stay organized as a mom!

My best back to school tip is contact the teacher before school starts for items your child will need, then you can take advantage of the sales

my best back to school tip is to get everything ready the night before so theres no rushing in the mornings
If you have young children just starting school or children going to a new school, try to arrange a visit to the school several days before school starts. This lets them get familiar with the facility and hopefully lets them meet some of the staff they will be working with.
My tip is ALWAYS have everything prepared the night before. Lunch made, shoes by the door, bag packed and clothes laid out!
Start early and catch all of the sales.
Coloring books are great, helps Kindegarden age kids to learn eye/hand coordination & concentration on tasks.
Get you children to start going to bed at school hours a couple of weeks before school starts.
Start goings bed earlier a few weeks ahead of time make it easier
My tip is instead of assuming that a store such as Walmart has good prices on clothes, check out dept stores, because their prices are usually better with all there sales
Make sure you’re getting plenty of rest and have adjusted your (and/or your lil’ one’s) sleep-rest times, if needed, so you’ll have more energy.
Stock up early on supplies for the year, and remember that crayons and art supplies make great gifts too when those August sales start!
