Cygnett iPad Case Review and Giveaway!

This was the MOTHER of all Mother’s Days. My fantastic hubby surprised me with the New iPad! Of course, I was petrified that one of my children was going to immediately scratch, crack or dent my precious new “best friend”. I immediately thought of Cygnett for a new case. You may have seen our recent review and giveaway of their fantastic iPhone cases.

The fabulous folks at Cygnett generously sent us the Glam and Alumni case for both myself and Mama Bargains to review and compare. I tried out the Glam case in Red. Mama tried out the Alumni in Pink:

My Experience with the Glam case:

I slipped my shiny new iPad into this case and immediately breathed a sigh of relief! I felt like my device was extremely well protected (and looked shiny and cute!) The iPad slips into the front cover and a velcro flap keeps it securely in place. I can still see the white edge around the front of my iPad, which I like. The front cover works as a stand and has 3 different viewing positions. This function works great and is perfect for watching videos or doing Face Time. When I want to hold my iPad I just fold the cover behind and Voila I’m ready to go! My favorite feature is the magnetic closure with sleep/wake feature. Before I received my case I was constantly turning my iPad on and off. Now I simply open the cover and my iPad automatically wakes up. How cool is that! The outside of the Glam case is a beautiful bright Red that is gorgeous and shiny. Even my husband approves! This is a GREAT case, and far superior to other cases I have seen. The Cygnett Glam is rated as one of the top cases for the iPad by cnet.com and for good reason! I’m loving the Glam iPad case!

Alumni for The New iPad and iPad 2 ($49.99)

The Alumni is covered with classic hard-wearing canvas fabric that protects the new iPad from wear and tear. Opening or closing the case automatically activates the sleep/wake function, while concealed magnets keep the case securely closed when the new iPad is not in use.

My Experience with the Alumni case for iPad:

This case is different than the Glam but I feel that it provides the same amount of protection. Unfortunately my iPad has taken a couple of tumbles already, but has survived the falls unscathed in this case!! The iPad inserts into the front cover and is fastened with the same velcro closure as the Glam case. I haven’t had any problems with my iPad slipping. Once inserted into this case it is very secure. I love the canvas fabric on this cover. It is very durable and withstands scratches and drop without showing any marks at all! As with the Glam case, the Alumni has a magnetic closure that activates the sleep/wake cycle. This feature works flawlessly! The Alumni has a folio pocket in the front cover instead of a stand. This is great, especially for those of us who are constantly making lists and hoarding little scraps of paper! The Alumni is a great case, at a great price point!
