When was the last time you bought a new curling iron? Well I bought mine in high school. Yes folks, that’s over 15 years ago. Admittedly I’m not very tough on curling irons. I only use them a few times a month, but I have been finding myself using them more and more often. Since I no longer have time to blow dry my hair in the morning (kids put such a damper of your style sometimes, don’t they?), I often just wash my hair at night. I find that a quick run through with the curling iron in the morning gives me some semblance of style.
I was THRILLED with the opportunity to try out the Barbar 1 1/2″ Tourmaline Barrel curling iron. This is one fancy curling iron, and I was clearly in desperate need of a new one. Just look at how pretty it is too! I was really expecting professional quality from such a well known brand, and wow did it deliver! I chose the 1 1/2″ barrel because it seemed not too big and not too small. It worked perfectly on my medium/long hair. It creates long flowing curls that LAST! I found that the iron heated up quickly and could reach a whopping 392 degrees. The LED temperature display worked nicely and the 3 button control was super easy to use. The tourmaline barrel glided through my hair without catching at all. I really loved the results I was able to achieve within 5 minutes. The curling iron is durable and powerful, with a nice swivel cord that won’t get twisted. I did have to be careful when grabbing the end of the barrel while twisting my hair. The insulated portion at the end seemed a little small. Otherwise, I really loved the design features on this curling iron!
