Research 4 Profit. width=”94″ height=”300″ />So I just found out today that September 28th is National Good Neighbor Day- and the folks at White Pages wanted me to share about it with you and remind you about the importance of getting to know your neighbors!! With cooler weather, it’s almost easier to be outside than in the hot hot sun and humidity of summer- why not have a get together and invite some neighbors? You know that nice family you see on Halloween every year? See if they’d like to get together even for lunch! Celebrate National Good Neighbor Day and reach out to your neighbor!!
If you don’t remember from my post last month about White Pages Neighbors, you can use their tools to find your neighbors by proximity to you- you can choose how much or how little information is shared with them too! Its a great tool to take some of the legwork out of meeting the neighbors so you can just invite them over for coffee or something. Heck, invite ME over for coffee if you want!!
I love the idea of a Good Neighbor Day. I love doing random acts of kindness or being able to help a friend or neighbor- for things big and small.

I always check in with my neighbors to see how they are doing.
I would really love to say that I would do something nice for my neighbors, but I can’t. I suppose the nicest thing I’m doing for them today is not calling the landlord/police on them today. As I compose this, it is 318AM central time. I am still being disturbed by my inconsiderate neighbors. I wish I lived in Mayberry…but I don’t. I still smile and wave. I’m still polite. I still make small talk & give their kids little treats, but its empty. Its just “making nice”. So I’m “making nice” again today…that is how I’m being neighborly…have a nice day! I like y’all better…and I don’t really even know you!
I’m going to share a pot of chili I’ve made.
I’ll bring them their Mail
I’m going to bake some cookies for them.
The family & I participated in the neighborhood watch program where we are on the lookout for suspicious activity around our block.
I won’t get upset when my neighbor smokes pot three times a day.
i will keep my sidewalk clear of leaves and debris.
By watching to make sure their kids get ob the school bus safely.
I lone her food and money when she needs it and after she had surgery I moved her trash can and carried her groceries in.
Oops I can’t spell tonight that should be loan not lone.
after the garbage truck comes I will bring the trashcans up for my neighbor, whose husband is currently deployed.
I’m going to continue to do our elderly neighbors yard work (my fiance and I do this together, and have since last October when we moved into our new place). The couple next door are 79 and 96 years of age! We seen them out doing yard work (struggling) and we ran over and asked if we could finish things up and they didn’t mind, since then we have been doing most of their chores (the outdoor ones) for them since…in return for some AMAZING baked goods from the 96 year old lady “Millie” who bakes better than the Cake Boss! Lol.
We watch over our neighbor’s house while they are away.
I’m going to rake their leaves when I do mine!
Today I helped our neighbor rake leaves.
I cleaned up trash on the sidewalk while I was out for my neighborhood walk this morning.

Today I called over and asked the neighbor about getting together for a weiner roast this weekend.
We collect & hold the mail and newspaper as well as check the house for our neighbor until he and his family return from vacation on Friday.
