Research 4 Profit. width=”94″ height=”300″ />So I just found out today that September 28th is National Good Neighbor Day- and the folks at White Pages wanted me to share about it with you and remind you about the importance of getting to know your neighbors!! With cooler weather, it’s almost easier to be outside than in the hot hot sun and humidity of summer- why not have a get together and invite some neighbors? You know that nice family you see on Halloween every year? See if they’d like to get together even for lunch! Celebrate National Good Neighbor Day and reach out to your neighbor!!
If you don’t remember from my post last month about White Pages Neighbors, you can use their tools to find your neighbors by proximity to you- you can choose how much or how little information is shared with them too! Its a great tool to take some of the legwork out of meeting the neighbors so you can just invite them over for coffee or something. Heck, invite ME over for coffee if you want!!
I love the idea of a Good Neighbor Day. I love doing random acts of kindness or being able to help a friend or neighbor- for things big and small.

I donate all my freebies and stockpile extra to my local food pantry. Our area was hit hard by unemployment and most of may neighbors are forced to visit the food pantry just to survive…so I figured the best way to help all my neighbors is to donate to the food pantry

I am going to bring in their mail and paper cause they are on vacation and asked me to!
I have lived in my house for 6 years and never really talked to any of my neighbors. But that all changed with Hurricane Irene this year. A tree fell on our house and all the neighbors rushed over to make sure me and my children where ok. That made realize I could be a better neighbor by saying a simple hello and letting them know I am here for them if they are ever in need of help.

the best thing for me to being a good neighbor includes having my kids remember to be respectful to neighbors, so dont yell and run around late at night, dont have loud parties and watch for opportunities to be helpful

We are starting a Boo game in our neighborhood so that we can bring the neighbors together and hopefully know each other a little better than we do after six years.
My buddy got a ride with me all this week to ride.
