Pay it forward. My mom may not have used that phrase when she was alive, but she sure did teach us to live that way. Pay it forward. Do something nice for someone, help someone, do a good deed- for no other reason than to do it. Watch what happens- it’s pretty neat. Its contagious. Yesterday, I got the chance to “Bag it Forward” thanks to Elmer’s.
Since we’re all set for school supplies for the kids, and I got a generous gift card from GoodNites earlier this week for a post, I decided that we should have some fun and really Bag it Forward- we were able to FILL 2 backpacks for 2 kids- and get a good start on a third backpack (which was also sent by GoodNites) for a preschool aged child. Originally I wanted to bring the big kids with me to choose but quickly realized this might make for some akward moments if she was to see one of the backpacks later on at school. I wouldn’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable so I decided I’d just go with Baby B while the big kids were at camp.
You can click here to see my “This Moment” story for the shop, or view below- suffice to say it was a blast to go through and buy some fun supplies for unsuspecting kids who might not otherwise have things.
As students head back to school this fall, many will head out to shop for brand new, shiny school supplies. But some will not have the resources they need to be successful. That’s where you and Elmer’s come in. This year, let’s join together and Bag It Forward, by picking up an extra bag of school supplies and donating it locally in your community.
This summer, Elmer’s is teaming up with bloggers across the country to kickoff the Bag it Forward movement. These bloggers are gathering school supply bags for families, organizations and teachers, and encouraging others to join in. In addition, Elmer’s is donating one product for every “Like” on the Elmer’s Facebook page to the Kids In Need foundation, and an additional item for every view the video on the Kids In Need tab receives.
Elmer’s donating items to the Kids in Need Foundation:From July 25 through Sept. 1, for each “like” on the Elmer’s Facebook page, the company will donate a product to the Foundation’s national network of free stores, where teachers from disadvantaged schools can “shop” for free for school supplies. Products to be donated include a variety of glues, foam board, project supplies and pencil sharpeners. If you already like the page, we’ll make a contribution on your behalf, but you can donate again by watching a video on the Elmer’s Kids In Need Facebook tab and sharing it with your friends and family.
Elmer’s is a Upromise partner and that every time you purchase an Elmer’s or Krazy Glue product with your registered drug or grocery card, a percentage of your purchase will be put into your Upromise account. More information can be found here – http://www.elmers.com/about/special-offers.
