sThese Jumbo Zoo Animals from Learning Resources are great. Very realistic details, and a nice size for little hands to manipulate and explore with. The animals come in a set of 5, including a monkey, zebra, hippo, penguin and polar bear. These are not the plastic animal figures from when I was a kid that were often kind of scary looking!! They are soft to touch, not rough, and no jagged edges.
They are durable and can be played in so many ways- they are a GREAT toy to keep in the diaper bag or “restaurant” bag to keep the kids occupied. I love animals like this- children can explore and discover during imaginative play. Toy animals and figures are great for developing fine motor skills along with language development and early science exploration. Plus, they are really cute and lots of fun! I prefer to have toy animals that look realistic, and I love that these are made by Learning Resources- a great brand with a reputation (that I’ve experienced) for excellent quality with high standards.
As a former educator and a mom, I love that an activity booklet is included with each of their animal sets. Scientific facts about each animal and activity suggestions are a great way to encourage learning through play, which in my experience is how most young children learn best!!
One reader will win a set of these Jumbo Zoo Animals!
