Tommee Tippee: Closer to Nature : Breastfeeding Prize Pack Giveaway

I have heard of Tommee Tippee by name for a very long time, but until quite recently, never really experienced the brand firsthand. I love when I find high quality, cool products for babies and their parents. I love it even more when I get to share with my readers and get to host a giveaway for someone else to get to try these cool products out for free. Tommee Tippee may be new to the US but they’ve been around in Great Britain for quite some time…and you will only find it here in the US at BabiesRUs and ToysRUs.

One of the items we received for review is the “closer to nature” single electric breast pump. Since I’m not in need of a pump any longer, and we have friends due any day now with their first baby, we passed this along to them because we knew they could use it. We did check it out and I have to tell you that this is a really well designed pump. Pumping isn’t really something I ever have enjoyed, although I did it, and would do it again in a heart beat- its not always pleasant and isn’t really “fun” but for me, worth every second. I think what struck me the most was the softness of the silicone cups – they sure seemed like they’d be a lot more comfortable than the pumps I’ve used in my time!!

Plus, the ability to express the milk and get it stored in one system, no need to transfer or anything, well, that’s just awesomeness. I don’t mean because it saves time and money, and eliminates the risk of waste when transferring containers- I simply mean for those of us in the world (ahem, ME) who are clumsy and prone to drop or spill things- it takes the risk of wasting that liquid gold we work so hard to express out of the equation. (The other benefits are nice too but I’m clumsy so this spoke to me!!)

We also received some explora® Truly spill proof water bottles, which are, like all Tommee Tippee products, BPA free. They are designed for a child’s natural oral development. I love the muted colors and designs on these cups, I won’t lie. I am not big into having branded characters on things and am very glad to have some cups that are cute and fun without having characters. They can go in the microwave or the dishwasher with no issue. They also do NOT leak. We’ve tried, tested, and tested again. You can’t even bite the tips to make them leak. (Also tested mulitple times). The baby (I have to stop calling her that soon, don’t I? She’s almost 2 now) seems to like her new cups, largely in part because to her I think they look more like big kid cups than sippy cups so she can be just like her big sister and big brother. She and I both love the birdie cup. I just think its darling, and I love how she says birdie.

The cups come packaged in pairs for purchase, in a nice-for-toddlers 12 oz size. Her big brother and sister keep trying to snag these cups, but they are just for Baby B. Just so you know, they also pass my church test. Our church is a very old church with a lot of wood and not much to soften or muffle the sound when things hit the floor or the side of the pews. We’ve had cups that hit the floor VERY LOUDLY and, inevitably, hit the floor just when Pastor Chuck is preaching his sermon. Thankfully, when these cups have been launched onto the floor or the side of the pew, they don’t make a huge noise. Not something they are designed for, I’m sure, but hey, these are things I think about, so maybe you do too!!

Even though I am working on baby #3, I have never really invested in pacifiers or teething toys. I always avoided pacifiers because I nurse my babies and my children never really had a difficult time with teething. However, I began to change my opinion of these items when I ran across Tommee Tippee Chewthers. I was fortunate enough to try out 4 different Tommee Tippee Chewthers. I love that they offer different pacifiers/teething toys for every stage of development. The Chewthers were bright, colorful and interesting for young babies. My overall impressions:

I really loved the unique shape of these pacifiers and teethers. You can immediately tell that these toys are different from others. The unique shape encourages a different type of bite for the benefit oral development. The colors were bright and fun and the materials were pleasant to chew on. I have to admit that even my 2 year old liked chewing on them! I will definitely be packing a couple of these in my diaper bag for on the go.
