Now that I am at the end of my pregnancy (7 weeks to go and counting!), I am having such a difficult time finding clothes that fit me, are flattering and fully cover my belly. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on nice maternity shirts that I will only be wearing for a few weeks, either.
I was fortunate enough to run across the Milan Maternity website. They have some adorable and fashionable maternity clothing that is reasonably priced. The colors are beautiful and bright for the summer and their designs are versatile and beautiful. In addition, many of their items can be worn post pregnancy. This makes for a great value.
After much debating, I decided to try out their Carissa top in Honeysuckle Pink color. My item arrived promptly and was packed in pretty tissue paper and sealed with a nice sticker. The pink color is striking, and makes for a good contrast with jeans or kahki shorts.
I ordered my prepregnancy size even though I have gained quite a bit of weight. However, I found that that the fit was perfect. The neckline was not too deep (a problem I always have with maternity shirts), and the sleeves are loose and ruffled, making my arms appear smaller than they really are! I love the rouching on the side of this garment. I always love this look, but every time I have tried to wear a rouched shirt, I have had trouble with it riding up and exposing my belly and the band of my pants. This shirt has solved that problem with a nice fitted cut and super long length. I simply pull the shirt down where I would like it and is stays!
This is by far the most flattering maternity shirt that I own. And the best part? Because it is rouched and f0rm fitting, I will be able to wear it after I have the baby! Problem solved. I can purchase a nice maternity shirt that can also be used as a transitional shirt post partum. I love it!
