I had the opportunity to try out SwaddleDesigns newest product: the SwaddleDesigns® Swaddle Duo™ which features both our Ultimate Receiving Blanket and Marquisette Swaddling Blanket. I chose the Blue Classic Peace Love Swaddle Duo with it’s baby blue pattern and cute polka dot and peace sign design. The SwaddleDuo includes 2 different swaddling blankets in one gift box:
· The Ultimate Receiving Blanket® is a lightweight premium cotton flannel blanket – for moderate to cooler environmental temperatures
· The Marquisette Swaddling Blanket® is a very lightweight openweave cotton blanket – for warmer environmental temperatures
I think this is just ingenious! Two blankets, for two different temperature environments. This solves all sorts of problems. These blankets are large in size, but roll up nicely and fit into a diaper bag easily. With two different blankets, you can pick and choose the best one for the current conditions. Since I am expecting a baby in the middle of the hot summer months, I was wondering how swaddling was going to work. The thick cotton swaddlers would be way too warm for the summer months. The Marquisette Blanket is so lightweight (similar to a muslin, but make with premium quality yarns) and will be absolutely perfect for warmer days. The Ultimate Receiving Blanket is a nice lightweight cotton flannel made from preshrunk domestic cotton that will work nicely with the cooler evening temperatures. The fabrics are nice and soft, perfect against babies skin.

ve that the size of these swaddlers is so generous. As you can see, I even bundled up my 2 year old (and elmo)!
The SwaddleDuo comes in a variety of really cute patterns. I just love the kiwi triplets design, with lime green and bright blue paisley. The swaddlers come prepackaged in a nice box, perfect for gifting. SwaddleDuo is available in 17 styles with MSRP of $38. This would make a really nice baby shower gift. Any mother would be thrilled to receive these swaddlers.
I almost forgot to mention the best part! Swaddling instructions are actually sewn right into the edge of the blanket. This is great for all those new moms and dads (mostly dads) out there who struggle to remember the proper way to swaddle. No more guessing or asking for help. The instructions are right at your fingertips at all times. I found that the tag was discreet and did not in any way impede the comfort or look of the product. Very handy.
