As summer approaches I like to try to build my arsenal of crafts and activities for the kids. I find that summer is always exciting for the kids for the first 2 weeks and then boredom kicks in. It’s always nice to pull out a brand new activity in the afternoon. Especially one that can be used over and over again. That’s where Build A Dream Playhouses comes to the rescue!
Build A Dream Playhouses are the cutest cardboard playhouses that you have ever seen! They come in 6 different styles which is sure to spark imaginative play for every child!
All of their products are made from corrugated cardboard and 80% recycled materials. When you are done with your playhouse, recycle it again. This makes it a 100% recyclable product. These playhouses are durable and completely safe for children. The cardboard can be colored, painted, decorated, and customized however your child wants.
I think the most important feature of this product is how it allows your child to use their imagination. With so many toys on the market today, imagination is not part of the equation. Pretend play is such a crucial developmental skill for young children. It is refreshing to find a fun toy/activity that allows for a creative outlet. Your child will spend hours playing with their new house, and if they are anything like my kids, will find new and inventive ways to use their playhouse everyday.
We tried out the Imagine Wagon. My kids just love when the Ice Cream Truck comes down the street. When we saw that there was an Ice Cream Wagon we just had to go for that one, no question! The package arrive promptly in a large, flat box. The instructions that were included inside were simple to follow. Entire assembly of the wagon took 20 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the wagon was very sturdy. It did not wobble back and forth and withstood the wrath of my 5 and 2 year old. That’s the true test!
After the
assembly, on to the decoration. We chose to use red duct tape to apply stripes to our ice cream truck. I used permanent markers to color in the “menu” and details on the truck. It was really a fun afternoon activity. The kids, mom and grandma all had fun putting the wagon together. The kids were anxious to play inside once it was finished, but insisted on making ice cream to sell out of their new truck. So I guess I am spending the rest of the day making ice cream! By the way, according to my 5 year old the crucial flavors are as follows: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Sour Lemon, Raspberry Vanilla, and Spicy Bananaza.
We have had a such a fun time with this activity and my children have been playing with this wagon for weeks now. What a worthy investment! You can find out more about Build A Dream Playhouses here. They retail between $40 and $70 depending on the style that you choose. This is a little more than I would typically spend on a summer activity/toy, but is well worth it. This toy will last you the entire summer and is great for building your child’s imagination.
The Bargains family received the Pop ‘n’ Play Kitchen- tons and tons of fun! Like the Imagine Wagon, ours arrived in a large flat box (which Mr. Bargains put to good use in the garage…) and set up took seconds. Ours, of course, looks nothing like the kitchen on the website, but the kids have been cooking, cleaning, shopping and decorating to their heart’s content for weeks now! One thing I love is that nothing is permanently “setup” and I can actually lay everything flat and store this in the corner of the living room- I like saving things like this for rainy or cold weather. The kids have set this up as a fort with heavy blankets across- held up quite nicely. These are a really strong product!

If I was your lucky winner, I would choose the Imagine Wagon.
I remember when my brothers & me were kids, we had to wait for a neighbor to get a big appliance delivery so we could play in the discarded cardboard box. These Playhouses are so much nicer; they make you wish you were a kid again.

This is awesome!
