What a Mom Wants- Margarita’s from Chilis! (giveaway)

As a mom, treating myself to things isn’t always top on my list.  I’m trying to be better about making myself a priority, and while I don’t always succeed, I’ve done lots better so far in 2011.  This includes DATE NIGHTS with my husband!!

I’ve been trying to get pregnant, pregnant, or nursing, or a combination of those three things since I got married in September of 2003.  I’m not a big drinker, but I’m ready to enjoy things like margaritas now and again without feeling guilty afterwards, you know?  Even if it means just sharing one margarita with my husband, its still a nice, refreshing treat for me (and him!).

Chili’s has a VERY fun promo called Margarita Madness going right now, including NINE different margaritas to tempt us, including The World’s Freshest Margarita, The Presidente Margarita and the Patron Pomegranate Margarita. I’m all about pomegranate lately, and very recently my husband has discovered that it makes for really delicious beverages- so guess what we tried?  Yes, the Patron Pomegranate, and it was SO delicious.  I’m ready for another date night this weekend to make Margarita Madness a weekly happening for us!!  I usually get some eye rolling and comments about my girlie drinks (um, hello? I am a girl!!) but this margarita made both of us happy.  Not too sweet, not too tart, and not too much alcohol to overwhelm the flavor.  DELICIOUS!!  This will be even better as the weather gets warmer!!  Plus, its PINK.  I love me some pink!!  I want to try the Tropical Sunrise Margarita next time.  Thankfully my birthday is right around Mother’s Day so we can justify another date night soon!!

The Patron Pomegranate margarita and famous chilis chips and queso were our shared treat for this night out and oh, was it yummy.  At $3.99 and $8.99 for the margaritas, you can enjoy a margarita with your spouse or a friend with your gift certificate!!  We opted to share a margarita and enjoy the chips and queso, but there’s a good chance we’ll each be having our own margarita next time.
