Welcome to Israel is the first of a 12 part DVD series designed to bring Jewish culture and tradition and the diversity of Israeli life to American children and their families. I have always, always had a soft spot for Sesame Street and this DVD series only deepens my love. Plus, furry, lovable Grover is the host with Anneliese van der Pol (from That’s so Raven and Beauty and the Beast on Broadway) and as far as hosts go, these 2 are really just adorable and engaging. In this DVD, there’s even an appearance by Christina Applegate (and I love her- she’s just great, such a fun actress).
Bonus extras on each Shalom Sesame DVD include “Grover’s Monster Music Videos,” option for English sub-titles and sneak peeks at all 12 titles in the series.
I think these DVDs are going to be fantastic. We have enjoyed watching Grover on his travels and seeing him experience new things, and foods. Only Sesame Street can bring so much into your living room with your television in such a simple, fun way. I’m excited to watch the 2nd DVD this weekend!!
